I would have to say the artwork that does not represent my ability is the very first project I did. I chose to do shoes because I did one shoe in Art 1 and that happened to be my favorite piece that I did that semester. Because I was confident with my ability to draw shoes and show the different values in shoes, I was really optimistic in doing it for my first Art 2 project. Even though I am not a huge fan of my jungle painting, I believe it does show a lot of improvement. To start with, the length I wrote in my blog for my jungle painting is much greater than for my shoe painting, which shows that I knew how to elaborate more on my pieces as time went on. In my opinion, painting is a lot harder than drawing and that shows a lot when looking at my beginning piece and my recent piece. Control and accuracy with a pencil is so much easier than controlling a long brush and my painting showed that I gained control with my paint brush. I learned to never give up or slack when doing an art piece. I think that I gave up on my shoe piece because I did not like how it looked. Even though I got frustrated with my painting fairly often, I never gave up and kept trying to fix whatever I thought needed to be fixed. I was so glad I did because it could have turned out a lot worse. To be honest I am proud of myself for sticking with it and not giving up on my painting or myself. I also learned that patience is a virtue when working with anything that has to do with art. When I was painting, I really did not like how it was turning out and I wanted to change or add something but the paint was too damp so I had to tell myself to let it dry and not mess with it.

I would have to say that my most successful piece is my clay art. I am so pleased with how they turned out. This is my favorite piece I have ever done. For this project we had to do food and I really wanted to do a dessert. So I looked at Pinterest and when I saw the doughnuts I thought of all the different things I could put on them and I was convinced I wanted to do them. The first thing I needed to do was make sure that there was an opening because if there was not it would burst in the kiln. When I was molding my clay doughnut, I wanted it to look super smooth and I wanted to get all the little bumps and scratches out. After that I made the clay in such a way to make it look like icing. That was the hardest part because I wanted the icing to look even all around. But some things went to low or too high on the doughnut, so it was kind of frustrating but I eventually did it. After that I did the topping would be on each doughnut. The icing on one of the doughnuts is my least favorite thing in this project because it went to high. After that I put them in the kiln, glaze painted them, and then put them in a glaze fire. When handling the clay I did not use any tools because I feel like I could get them to turn out better if I just used my hands.

I chose to do the most unique things I did in art 2. Print making was something I had done in Art 1, but it did not turn out half as good as the one I did in Art 2. To make my print making project , I used tracing paper, green paper, different colors of ink, brayers, cutting tools and linoleum. In the beginning, I was very confused, but the more I worked on the project, the more I got the hang out how it went. I wanted to use colors that were "out of the box" and not common but still have my dinosaur look realistic. The other art project I chose was my mixed media project because this project was something that I personally connected with and I have never done that with any of my other projects. I used a lot of random things that were around the room and was never worried about messing up. The only thing that was not completely random were the colors I used in my piece. At first I was not sure of what I was doing for this project, but the more I added, the more I started to visualized exactly how I wanted my piece to look.
